WEEK 7
After two weeks of not being able to attend uni, I came back for my Sequential Practice lesson.
We start the day with a lecture all together and then my group went to the room 133 to continue with the puppet making. In my case, my puppet wasn’t very developed at all because I hadn’t been able to work on it. So I used that time to think about how the armature of the lion would be. I tried to speak to Andy about how to approach the puppet structure, but he wasn’t in, so I did quite a bit of research on lions anatomy to see how the limbs would have to bend and be attached.
During the lunch break I have a short tutorial with Patrick, where he taught how to do the walk cycle for the Wednesday’s lesson.
I like learning how to use the different softwares, because I like to know what to do with them and have multiple solutions if a problem occurs.
After effects is not one of the programs that I know better so it was very helpful lesson.
After that we had a workshop about lighting and what we can use to illuminate the scene.
I experiment with some props, like tea lights and the coloured plastic.
I wAnted to create a beach scene for my story so I wanted a sunset illumination for it. For that I used the red plastic to cover the lights and then modify the dragon frame settings.
Because I don’t have yet the maquette I couldn’t do any more progress on it so I decide to continue working on the design of the scenery. Creating mood boards and doing some sketches of the possible options.
During this weekend I will have to do a lot of progress on the puppet to catch up and be able to start animating next week, but it would be very tricky to manage to do all that on time, because instead of having 3 weeks for it I have just one.
